Easter Week

The Easter Season at Mission Arlington is such a blessing, and so much fun for families, and for the children & youth of our community. Pictured here, one scene from last year’s egg hunt.

Easter week is an important time of celebration for many individuals & families throughout our community.  Mission Arlington® congregations will gather for special worship services through the week, and the Mission family will host several events designed to provide support for children, youth, and their families. Listed below are a few of the events for the week:

The “Easter Store”

April 12th & 13th – from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day  at Mission Arlington;

This is a FREE event which parallels our Christmas Store. Instead of providing toys, families receive Easter baskets, Spring clothes, and other Easter-related items which are fun for the family. Everyone who comes through this store will hear the narrative of Easter – the old, old story of Christ’s death and resurrection. Maundy Thursday Youth Service

Thursday, April 13th, 6:30 p.m.  On this Thursday before Easter, Mission Arlington® youth gather in a central Arlington location to worship and study God’s Word. Mission Arlington provides the pizza, and organizes the worship time including music and a special speaker. After the service, these young people gather with their Bible study leaders/pastors to discuss how they will apply what they had learned. It is a sweet time together.

Good Friday Services

April 14th: Evening Services (Start times vary). Also known as “holy Friday,” “great Friday,” or “black Friday,” this worship service commemorates the crucifixion of Christ.  Worshippers review and remember the gift of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and set aside this evening as a way of expressing gratitude and devotion to God.

The “World’s Largest” Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday, April 15th: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in central Arlington.

Bouncy houses, food, games, and a giant Easter egg hunt are all part of the fun. Mission Arlington’s children and youth attend with their Bible study leaders, and this event is also open to the community for families with children. (No unattended or dropped off children, please.  Click HERE for more information.
