A Day On – instead of a Day Off

The City of Arlington and the University of Texas at Arlington have been hosting events all weekend to honor Martin Luther King Jr. and his leadership in our country.

Toni Kincaid, the MLK “day of service” chairman for UTA’s events, reminds people that Dr. King was “big on service,” especially “service to others.”  Kincaid is excited about the number of volunteers who will gather at UTA Monday morning, on this national holiday which celebrates the birth of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Mission Arlington® is honored and humbled to be a recipient of the hard work and beautiful hearts of so many volunteers on this special day.  In addition to the UTA volunteers, many other churches and civic organizations will be gathering at Mission Arlington® today to serve the community – in order to meet the needs of those who are currently in a moment of crisis.

We are always excited about this important day.  It is fun to watch the community come together to help others be ok.

If you haven’t planned ahead your day just yet, please come on down.  Mission Arlington® always needs volunteers, and your help would be such a blessing.

Thank you for being the kind and generous community that you are.  We are blessed to walk this journey with you.
