Since its inception in 1986, Mission Arlington®/Mission Metroplex® has served as a standard for excellence in non-profit social work by a faith-based organization.
Both religious and mainstream organizations have recognized the efforts of Mission Metroplex® and Mission Arlington®. The following is just a partial list of awards received by Mission Metroplex®, the founder/director Tillie Burgin and other mission friends and partners.

Arlington Fire Department. On September 11th, the Arlington Fire Department honored Tillie Burgin by naming their state of the art rescue boat “the Tillie.” Tillie christened the boat with a giant bottle of diet Dr. Pepper on the same day.

On February 23, 2006, the Arlington Police Department announced Mission Arlington as their Business Partner of the Year.

In recognition and grateful appreciation of heroic services rendered in assisting Arlington visitors seeking shelter from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the City of Arlington declared Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex as an Arlington Hero on December 6th, 2005.
