What does “Spring Break” mean to you?

When people attempt to describe “Spring Break,” the image of crowded vacations at popular beaches may come to mind.  Words like “play,” “fun,” or “relax” capture the popular imagination.

Spring Break originated in academics. Schools from every level recognized that students do better academically when they are well-rested.  The week of Spring Break varies in the DFW area, so Mission Arlington’s Spring Break season lasts for several weeks.

What Spring Break Looks Like at Mission Arlington^®

Students come here from all across the United States, and from multiple Texas cities. Church groups from across the denominational spectrum give their vacation time to make a difference in the lives of others. Individuals, families, friends, and groups of all sizes & shapes give their time sacrificially during Spring Break to make a difference here.

This week, we have more than 750 groups a day who are serving here. They are leading Rainbow Express^®, doing work projects, supporting our Bible studies & congregations.

An Invitation from Above

You may not know this, but Mission Arlington^® does not market, promote, or otherwise push for any of these groups to come.  We often say to the young people, “We did not invite you to come.”  We pause for a minute to let that sink in, then quickly follow with “But God did invite you to come, and there is no higher invitation.” We truly believe that the Lord has sent every individual, family, and student group here to serve.  What a beautiful difference volunteers can make.

Come see us!

If you have some time off during these weeks of Spring break, drop by to see us.  Some folks are jumping in to lend a helping hand.  Others are just coming by to catch up, to drop off supplies, or to help out in some way.  Your positive spirit and your encouragement always make a difference here, and especially, your prayers.

We are so grateful that we get to walk this journey with you – all year long, but especially at Spring Break.
