The Lord's Prayer (Summer 2016)

Many of us have memorized the Lord’s Prayer and pray it directly to God. It is also a model that teaches us how to pray. Join us on a walk through the Lord’s Prayer in seven lessons.

Lord’s Prayer – Lesson 1

Lesson 1: “When you Pray.”

Focus Verses: Matthew 6: 5-8

Memory Verse: Romans 12:12 – “Be faithful in prayer.”

Lesson Goals:

  1. to memorize the Lord’s Prayer;
  2. to teach the meaning of the Lord’s Prayer, and
  3. to encourage students to put the Prayer into practice.

Scripture to Study

  1. Matthew 6:5-8 (as background);
  2. Luke 18: 1-14;
  3. Mark 12:40
  4. 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Lesson 2: “Pray Like This.”

Focus Verses: Matthew 6:9-13

Memory Verse: Colossians 4:2 (ERV): “Never stop praying.”
